Ward D. Wilcox of 295 East End Towers passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at home.

He was a life resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

He was born June 17, 1943, and reared in Kingston and Forty Fort. He was the son of the late Thomas and Helene Kalor Wilcox.

He was a lifetime cab driver and served tens of thousands of Valley and Scranton residents in safely getting to their chosen destinations.

He was a member of the Wilkes-Barre and Scranton Coin Clubs. Ward was also an avid stamp collector. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan and will now be joining Phil Rizzuto, Mickey Mantle and the other Yankee immortals in the Baseball Wing of Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Colleen Wilcox, who passed away in 2010.

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Ward and Brigit Wilcox, Simi Valley, Calif.; Lisa and George Kammerer, Allentown; and by Janet Ungarsky, Wilkes-Barre. He is also survived by nine grandchildren who will deeply miss him. He is also survived by his brother, Tom Wilcox, Wilkes-Barre.

There will be a private service for immediate family members only.
