Joseph D. Rogowicz, Lower Makefield Township, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, in St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 76 years old.

Mr. Rogowicz, son of the late Edward and Celia Rogowicz, was born in Glen Lyon in 1936.
He valiantly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 0074, Mahanoy City. Mr. Rogowicz was a balance and scales service technician with Mettler Instrument Corp., Hightstown, N.J. He retired after 25 years and formed his own company, United Balance, which he successfully ran for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Yardley, and the Fr. James J. McCafferty Knights of Columbus Council 11013. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, traveling with his wife and attending all his grandchildren's activities. Formerly of Fairless Hills, he was a Lower Makefield Township resident for the past 17 years.
He was proceeded in death by his sister, Laura Rogowicz Sherin, Wilkes-Barre.
He is survived by his wife, Carole A. Rogowicz; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lynn Rogowicz, Yardley; daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Michael Bria, Langhorne; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Jeannine Rogowicz, Hershey; two sisters, Arlene Kobal, Levittown; and Tina Peterfreund, Syracuse, N.Y.; four grandchildren, David and Stephen Bria, and Jessica and Jaclyn Rogowicz; several neices, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The veiwing was at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, Yardley. His Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Ave., Yardley.
