Joseph Tomaselli, 57, former police sergeant, of Pottstown, New Hanover Township, and formerly of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family, after a three-year battle with breast cancer.

He was the husband of husband of Margaret (Meg) A. Jeffers Tomaselli.
Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Louise M. Swartwood Tomaselli.
Joe graduated in 1987 from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. He worked for 31 years as a police officer, starting in Upper Hanover Township and spending 28 of those years on the New Hanover police force, becoming sergeant. He was a DARE officer in the Boyertown School District, a member of the DARE Officers Association, the Juvenile Officers Association, and the Montgomery County FOP Lodge 14.
Joe was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 21 years, are his daughter, Jessica Tomaselli; sons, Joseph J. Tomaselli and Dominick J. Tomaselli; sisters, Cathy Rebeck and Tracie Conway and her husband, Mark; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, with the Rev. Paul Brandt officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
