Martha Platko Obituary
Born in Nanticoke on Jan. 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Waranka Sudick.
Martha was a member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, Hanover section of Nanticoke; the Sacred Heart Society; Mother Seton Guild; American Legion Auxiliary; and the Nanticoke Senior Center.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael; sister, Mary; and brothers, Michael, John and Nicholas.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Zbierski, Plains Township; Beverly Motel and husband, William, Slocum; and Michalene Berton and husband, Daniel, Plymouth; grandchildren, Lisa Miller and husband, Chris, Cindy Gavin and husband, John, Kristin Harris and husband, Rob, Dr. William Motel Jr. and wife, Laura, Dr. Michael Motel and Dr. Alicia Andras; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Pearl Bavitz and husband, Gerald, Sheatown.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with services at 10 a.m. in Transfiguration of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Sheatown. Friends are invited to call on the family from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
