Frank Rafalko Obituary
He was born in Mountain Top on Oct. 26, 1988, and was the son of Frank and JoAnn (Kowalcik) Rafalko.
Frank was a 2007 graduate of Crestwood High School, and he obtained an associate degree in human services from Kaplan University.
Frank was a kind, generous spirit who loved helping others. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, listening to music and writing his own songs.
He was a caring and courageous man who persevered and was victorious in his battle with life-threatening bone cancer, only to succumb to the demons his treatment created. He fought valiantly for 12 years until God called him home. He will be missed forever by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Charles, Mountain Top; his sister, Jessica, Mountain Top; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Kowalcik; and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Kowalcik; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Louise Rafalko; his aunt, Susan Lacina; and uncle, John Kowalcik.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Avenue, Dupont, with the Rev. Joseph Verespy officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, 39 E. Jackson St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701, or to Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services, 437 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705.
