Dorothy Saint John Obituary

Dorothy Ann and Robert Saint John of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., passed away in October 2015 just four days apart.

Living in California since the 1960s, Dorothy had retired from Lockheed Martin, where she had been a quality control inspector, and Robert retired from Southern California Gas, where he helped engineer natural gas service to countless new customers.

Needing a hobby in retirement, they started Saint John Antiques and Collectibles on Pomona's Antique Row. Antiques became their passion, their pastime and their social scene. Dorothy and Robert were also fond of antique cars and their Skymaster airplane, which they flew to Las Vegas on weekends for many years.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Josephine and Carl L. Blaum of Wilkes-Barre. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph, Frank and John Blaum; and sister, Carol Butler; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles "Skip" Blaum and Lawrence Blaum; and niece, Lisa Ann Blaum.

Robert was the son of the late Frances and Andrew Zenjohn of Wilkes-Barre. He is survived by his cousin, Mildred Papciak, and her son, Jeff.

Quick to make friends, Dorothy was a delight to be around with her memorable laugh and fond hugs. Robert was always inclined to talk your ear off with optimistic stories of his latest business venture or antique find. For years they enjoyed the beauty of their home at the base of Mount San Antonio, but they loved fall in Pennsylvania and wanted their final journey to bring them home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Parish, St. Patrick's Church, Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow the service in St. Nicholas Parish Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends and family may greet one another and share reminiscences at the church prior to the service.
