Michael Sivick Obituary
He was born April 17, 1931 to the late Anthony and Mary Vrabel Sivick in Buttonwood. He graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1949, where he was involved in both football and wrestling. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1949-1953. In 1954, he married Rose Jarvis, they had four girls and were married 59 years before Rose passed away in 2013. Mike, a gifted auto mechanic, enjoyed spending time woodworking, home remodeling, fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, feeding his backyard birds and trying his luck at the casino. He was a loyal Buffalo Bills fan, who enjoyed keeping up with both politics and the latest news on Facebook.
Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Marcklinger; his younger brother, Stan; and longtime friends, Ron and Marcia Chmiel.
He is survived by loving children, Linda Sivick (Peter Furkey), Michelle (Steven) Nelson, and Jane (Jim) Kendall; and grandchildren, Craig (Victoria) Marcklinger, Kalie Sivick, Kate (Patrick) Nelson-Hanley, Amanda, Laura, and Julie Nelson, Tori and Alex Warren, Celeste, Brandon, and Andrew Kendall; and much more extended family.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, in St. Elizabeth Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, Ohio. The Rev. Charles Cotton will be the celebrant and it will be followed by a luncheon. Interment will be private.
