Age 82
Albert Marshall Hinchey, 82, of Jefferson City, left his earthly home on Monday, March 21, 2016 to meet his Heavenly Father at 10:40 a.m. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Morristown and had for the past several years attended Flat Gap Baptist Church, where he had accepted Christ at an early age.
Al was a 60-year member and Past Master of Mossy Creek Masonic Lodge #353 F&AM, Jefferson County Scottish Rite Club, Royal Arch Masons #79, Morristown Council of Cryptic Masons #113, Morristown Commandery #22, Royal Order of Scotland, Tennessee Lodge of Research, Order of High Priesthood, Shriners and Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies, having attained rank and Decoration of Knight Commander Court of Honor.
Retiring from the mining industry, having been affiliated with Untied States Steel, Union Zinc, and Savage Inc., he had been a Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer since the early 1980s, having been associated with several companies and most recently Jackson Real Estate & Auction. He loved the auction business and has done many auctions for charities during his career. He retired his Real Estate and Auction license November 2014. He also served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Alma Proffitt Hinchey; brother, Max Hinchey; brother-in-law, Don Lockhart.
He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Lockhart and Patsy (Bill) Shands; brother, Sam (Yvonne) Hinchey; sister-in-law, Sylvia Hinchey Stout; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Fielden Chapel with the Rev. Sam Hinchey officiating and Masonic services provided by Mossy Creek Lodge #353.
Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26 in Flat Gap Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post #5266.
