Joseph T. Baker Joseph T. Baker, 67, Topeka, passed away Monday, May 18, 2016, at Homestead Assisted Living. Joseph served our country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, were he was disabled. Frank E. Bath Jr. Frank E. Bath Jr., age 70, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at the K.U. Med Center. He is survived by his wife Cindy; three sons, Robert, Jason and Scott; two daughters, Mona and Kim; two step daughters, Christine and Tina; a sister, Dianna and numerous grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Tuesday from noon 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery. Beimforde, Marla - Camarillo  
Marla Leuenberger Beimforde Marla Leuenberger Beimforde, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her Camarillo CA home May 2, 2015. Marla, daughter of Fritz Bud Leuenberger and Loretta Leuenberger is survived by her son, Justin Beimforde (Heather) of Hermosa Beach CA; daughter, Gabrielle Beimforde Samuels (Howard) of Los Angeles CA; her treasured grandchildren, Genevieve Beimforde, Cooper, Greer and Chase Samuels; and her brother, Jan Leuenberger (Bev) of Topeka, KS; in addition to her niece and nephew. After graduating from Topeka High School (1956), Marla went on to earn a BA from Washburn University (1960), where she was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta. After working for the Red Cross, she earned a Masters Degree from the KU School of Social Welfare (1963). She settled in Redding CT before moving west to Southern California in 1980. There, Marla worked as a social worker for the Ventura County Dept. of Mental Health for over 20 years. She was highly respected in her positions as a psychiatric social worker at the Ventura County Jail, an instructor at the Sheriff s Regional Training Academy, and a Community Program Director at Ventura Regional Forensic Conditional Release Program. She was considered a friend to both sheriffs and those serving sentences. Marla was an LCSW for Los Robles Regional Medical Center s emergency room. She also served as Vice President of Gem Properties Inc. of Topeka. Marla was a champion for mental health and helped scores of people from various communities. A world without her quick wit, hearty laugh, and willingness to help is a world a little dimmer. Norma Louise Berry Norma Louise Berry, 91, of Derby and formerly of Topeka, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her home. Norma was born on September 3, 1923 in Topeka, the daughter of Louis and Mary Jane (Black) Streeter. Norma was married to Johnnie E. Berry on November 15, 1941 in Topeka; he preceded her in death on December 3, 2001. Survivors include her daughter Glenda (Larry) Scott of Derby; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her two sons, Philip Berry and Johnnie A. Berry and eight siblings. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Bledsoe, Gordon  
Gordon Lee Bledsoe Gordon Lee Bledsoe, 76, Valley Falls, died Friday, May 15, 2015. He was born January 30, 1939, at Ozawkie, the son of William and Ella (Jones) Bledsoe. Gordon was Chief of Police at Valley Falls at the time of his retirement in 2004. He was married to Eileen Johnston on June 15, 1959. Surviving are his wife, Eileen; sons: Todd Bledsoe (Sharon) and Rodney Bledsoe (Cathy); six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a brother: Victor Bledsoe (Judy). He was preceded in death by daughter, Theresa; son, Gary; and granddaughter, Beverly. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Fairview Cemetery, Marion Road and 122nd Street, Oskaloosa. Gordon will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Bonham, Jayque  
Jayque Jay Bonham Jayque Jay Bonham, 76, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at his home in Topeka, KS. Jay was born January 25, 1939, in Sulphur, OK, to Samuel and Ella Peggy (Christian) Bonham. He joined the US Navy in 1956 and served as a frogman on the USS Hornet where he also held the Pacific Fleet bantamweight boxing title for three years. After the Navy, Jay worked as a general contractor, professional hunting guide, and a musician in California before coming to Kansas in 1979. He went to work for Perry-Lecompton School District as a general maintenance technician, and from 1979 to 1984, he also played music with the group The Night Train. He developed a passion for the outdoors throughout his life, and could often be found chasing fish, deer, upland birds, coyotes, and the occasional duck. Jay had his first bout with cancer in 2005 a fight which nearly claimed his life. Fortunately, he was able to overcome it and spend an additional 10 years with friends and family before being called home. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jay is survived by his loving wife, Mary; son, Sam (Jennifer) Bonham; daughter, Linda Clarey; grandchildren, Cadence and Cheyenne Bonham, and Alyssa and Elaina Clarey; sisters, Charlene, Sue, and Dee; brothers, Ed, Ronnie, and John; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Topeka Baptist Church, 4500 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS. Bowers, Colleen  
Colleen I. Bowers Eskridge Colleen I. Bowers, 80, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Midland Hospice House. She was born September 8, 1934 at Eskridge, the daughter of Ivan D. and Nola L. Barber Conrad. Colleen graduated from Eskridge High School in 1952. She had worked at the Supply Depot in Topeka. She and her sister Connie owned the Country Store in Eskridge and Colleen worked at Ron s IGA, also in Eskridge. Mrs. Bowers was the City Treasurer for the City of Eskridge for over 30 years. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 38 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 32. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Evans. On December 27, 1957 she was united in marriage to Bob Bowers at Newkirk, Oklahoma. He survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Kenny Bowers and Danny (Jana) Bowers, all of Topeka; her daughter, Cindy (Pat) Rutledge, Eskridge; a sister, Connie Evans, Eskridge; three grandchildren, Sami, Jake and Shelby, along with nieces and nephews and many friends. Memorial Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Eskridge Cemetery. Casual dress is requested. Brown-Flon, Theresa  
Teresa Lynn Brown-Flon On Sunday, May 17, 2015 Teresa Lynn Brown-Flon passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home. She was born in Tucson AZ on May 19, 1957 and was raised in Topeka KS. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of her too short life! She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Brown, also of Topeka, KS. She is survived in the home by her loving husband Mike Flon. She is also survived by her mother Katherine Johnson-Prim, and her brother, Michael Brown, both of Topeka, KS. Also by her two daughters that she was incredibly proud of, Julie Schulmeister and Crystal Wales, and her very loved grandchildren, Macey Wales, Peyton Grammer, Vance Pringle, and Piper Pringle, all of Baldwin City. She will be so dearly missed. Funeral arrangements are still being made, but contact the family and we can give updates. Thank you all for your loving prayers and thoughts!
