Alice Irene (Romig) Parsons Alice Irene (Romig) Parsons, 76, of Burlingame, KS passed away January 16, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. A celebration of life will be held January 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schuyler Annex, 117 South Dakota in Burlingame, Kansas. Private burial will be held at a later date at Burlingame Cemetery. Pasia, Joe  
Joe Pasia Joe Pasia, 94, of Topeka passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Topeka. He was born May 24, 1920 at Topeka the son of Joseph and Myrtle Finnie Pasia. He enlisted in the Army and served his country during World War II. Joe worked for the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring in 1980. He was a member of Kansas Ave. United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge #555, the Arab Shrine Temple and American Legion Post 400. He was married to Mary Alice Rogers on July 2, 1955 at Paola, Kansas. Mary Alice preceded him in death on December 17, 2010. Joe is survived by a sister, Mary Lou Terihay in California and a numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, January 30, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. He will lie in state from noon 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 7:30 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Grantville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church or the Humane Shelter and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Powell, Eleanor  
Eleanor Louise Hutchinson Powell Eleanor Louise Hutchinson Powell, 78 of Emporia passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. Eleanor was born February 9, 1936 in rural Burlington, the daughter of Samuel A. and Marian H. Baxter Hutchinson. Sis as she was known attended Swamp College Grade School near Old Strawn and later graduated from Strawn High School with the Class of 1954. She went to work at Hallmark Cards in Emporia and later worked at Crawford Manufacturing in Emporia. She was joined in marriage to Lowell Jack Powell on February 28, 1967 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a proud homemaker and worked with her husband and children in the family business, roofing houses and building fence. Eleanor was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary in Osage City. She will forever be remembered by her two daughters, Debra Redding of Waverly and Brenda Seaton of Auburn; a son, Douglas Seaton of Auburn; five sisters, Pat Dalby of Burlington, Kathleen Hutchinson of Lebo, Sharyl Bolyard of Osage City, Melva Selby of Emporia and Joyce Nihiser of rural Osage City; six brothers, Sam Hutchinson of Topeka, Jack Hutchinson of Rantoul, Marvin Hutchinson of Wellsville, Leon Hutchinson of Norman, Oklahoma, Clifford Hutchinson of Emporia and Orville Hutchinson of Lebo; five grandchildren, Jamie Dreiling, RaeAnna Seaton, Jackson Seaton, Heath Redding and Levi Seaton; five great- grandchildren, Mara Dreiling, Haddie Mae Seaton, Jax Dreiling, Hiatt Seaton and Seth Redding and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Jack on September 7, 2009. She was also preceded by her parents and a brother Donald Hutchinson. Services will be held at 1:00 PM., Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Burial will follow services at Baker Cemetery west of Burlington. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM., until 7:30 PM., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Emporia Zoo and sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com .
