Anderson, Bob  
Robert L. Bob Anderson, 87, Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. He was born March 28, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Frank and Lola (Shanley) Anderson. Bob attended Topeka High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during WWII and the Korean War, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. In 1998, he was inducted into the Topeka Bowling Hall of Fame and was a lifelong fisherman. On May 7, 1957, he married Phyllis Nadine Sue Moffett in Casper, WY. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Marc (Pam) Anderson, Topeka; Vonnie (Jack) Anderson-Woodruff, Longmont, CO; Lisa (Jim) Fincham, Topeka; and five grandchildren, Megan Woodruff, Kallie Woodruff, Jake Woodruff, all of Longmont, CO; Michelle Anderson and Marcy Anderson, both of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Hauschild, his twin brother Jack and sister-in-law Lydia Anderson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Bob will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Robert L. Bob Anderson Bob Anderson

Patricia L. Tricia Garver ST. GEORGE- Patricia L. Tricia Garver, 56, passed away, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Parton, Bonnie  
Bonnie J. Parton Bonnie J. Parton, 89, Topeka, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015. She was born February 27, 1926, the daughter of Lawrence Delbert and Zelma Fern (Carter) Terry. Bonnie married Scott Berridge. They later divorced. She married Richard L. Parton in 1961. Surviving are her husband: Richard L. Parton of the home; her son from her first marriage, Scott L. Berridge (Candyce Deay-Berridge); her son from her marriage to Richard, Stephen C. Parton; her sister, Alice A. (Terry) Vernon (Gayle Vernon); granddaughters Elizabeth Deay-Berridge (Michael Carmen) and Heather A. Parton; Heather s children and Bonnie s great-grandchildren; Jasmine A. Brown and Isaac H. Brown. Per her wishes, Bonnie was cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at First Congregational Church, 1701 SW Collins, Topeka, KS 66604. Jennie LaVerne Harper Ard LaVerne Ard, 69, of Osage City, passed away on July 22, 2015. She was born December 24, 1945 in Topeka, KS to Wilford S. and Anna Marie (Moyer) Harper. She graduated from Rossville High School and Stewart s Beauty Academy. She later became a CMA. She married the late Edwin C. Ard on January 19, 1980. Cremation was her request. Family and friends will celebrate her life at Marilynn s Place in Osage City, KS from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Eastman, Laura  
Laura E. Eastman ESKRIDGE- Laura E. Eastman, 87, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka. Laura Edna Freerksen was born November 15, 1927 in Lebo, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Edna (Park) Freerksen. She graduated from Lebo High School in 1946. She was joined in marriage to Willard Wid Carson Knight in 1946. Wid and Laura lived in Lebo and had a son, Kenneth. Wid preceded her in death on April 19, 1961. She later moved to Eskridge and married Robert Bob E. Eastman on January 8, 1962. They lived on the farm and had a daughter, Tami in 1965. Bob died in 1988. She had worked for the Department of Labor and also as a cook at the Eskridge Grade School. She was noted for her good food during her years as a school cook and to all the boys of the summer harvest crews. She was a member of the United Church of Eskridge, American Legion Auxiliary and had served as Boy Scout Pack 149 Den Mother. Laura will be remembered by her daughter, Toni (Elvin) Van Meter of Eskridge; a son, Kenneth W. (Susan) Knight of Eskridge; a sister, Veda Sliter of Lebo; four brothers, Fred (Barb) Freerksen of Neosho Rapids, KS, John (Myrle) Freerksen of Melvern, Glen (Julie) Freerksen of Omaha, Nebraska and Nelson Dean (Jane Dix) Freerksen of Perry, KS; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Freerksen of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Earl Freerksen and a brother-in-law, Jerry Sliter. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the United Church of Eskridge in Eskridge, Kansas. Visitation is Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Eskridge. Burial to follow service at Eskridge Cemetery. Fleenor, Patricia  
Mary Patricia Pat Fleenor Mary Patricia Pat Fleenor, 75, of Topeka, died July 24, 2015, at Homestead Assisted Living. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 18, 1940, the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Moeller) Garrett. Pat was a stewardess for TWA and later worked as a Travel Agent for several agencies in Topeka. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, member and past president of the American Business Women s Association and was a Stormont-Vail Auxiliary volunteer. Pat married Gary Fleenor in Topeka on February 6, 1970. He survives. She is also survived by their children, Julie (Dan) Lamott of Topeka, Jon (Lynne) Fleenor of Shawnee, KS, Jeff (Michelle) Fleenor of Roeland Park, KS, and Christine Adolph, of Topeka, a sister, Carol Ann Garrett, a brother Tom (Linda) Garrett, all of Topeka, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Her family will receive friends at Christ the King Catholic Church, S.W. 25th and Wanamaker, on Wednesday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. with a rosary prayed at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Grindol, Wayne  
Wayne W. Grindol Wayne W. Grindol passed away July 21, 2015, in Beloit, Kansas. He was born March 9, 1923, in Perry, Kansas. The only child of William A. Grindol and Ivah Welter Grindol, he graduated from Perry High School. served for three years during World War II., and attended Baker University, where he met and married Marky Frisbie. Wayne attended Washburn Law School, graduating in 1963, with his LLD awarded in 1970. Wayne was successful in several careers, including coach, teacher, Kansas Highway Patrol, County Attorney of Smith County, banker, and private practice attorney. Wayne loved sports, both playing and coaching several championship teams. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a 70-year Mason. Preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife Marky, he leaves behind 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 28, at Trinity Methodist Church in Jewell, KS. Memorials may be made to the Jewell Ministerial Alliance, or to the Perry, KS, music program through Kleppinger Funeral Home.
