Marge J. Netherton

Marge J. Netherton, a resident of Naples, Florida for the past eleven years passed away on January 1, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, C.J. Netherton, in 1996. She is survived by her children, Michael Netherton, Carrolton, Texas; Tammy Netherton, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and Rene Netherton, Topeka, Kansas and her sister Alice Ehly, Pueblo, CO. Marge is also survived by three grandchildren: Jeff Netherton of Tulsa, OK, Chad Netherton of Fredericksburg, VA, and Jamie Edwards of Topeka, KS, and five great grandchildren. Marge was born in Herington, KS, to Mary and Herman Krieger. She attended school at Hoisington High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude fro JCCBC in Great Bend, Kansas, and Denver University with a degree in nursing. She was a talented seamstress and won the County and State Championship in the Miss Wool Contest. Marge designed and made several of the gowns for the Ms. Kansas competition. She loved to paint in watercolor and many of her paintings were sold in contests while she was a member of Art, Inc. While living in Naples, she was an avid volunteer in the Headquarters Library, the Collier County Health Department, American Red Cross and Hospice of Naples, FL. Marge was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church , Naples, FL. Marge will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her unfailing class in the face of adversity. Marge Netherton
