Marlene Palmer

Marlene Palmer Marlene Kay Palmer, 76, of Topeka passed away November 8, 2013, with family present in her home. Marlene was born January 10, 1937, to Karl E. and Florence E. Brobst in Topeka KS. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School. Marlene married Harry Palmer on June 3, 1967 at Seabrook Congregational Church. She was a member of the Auburn Lion's club and was a member of Seabrook Congregational Church. She retired from WIBW as Secretary of the Farm and News Departments after 36 years of service. She was an organizer of special events at WIBW. Marlene was the Secretary of NAB and the Secretary Treasurer of Mission Center Cemetery, NFR, and NAFB. Her kids were a great joy to her and there was not anything she would not have done for them. Marlene was also an avid pet lover. Marlene is survived by her husband, Harry Palmer; daughters Janet (Ray) Kraus, Mary (Curt) Ginter, Tammy Palmer; son Larry Palmer; five grandchildren and their spouses, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Gary A. Peterson. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. 11/12/2013 at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road Topeka KS. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. 11/13/2013 at the funeral home with burial at Mission Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to or left in care of the funeral home.
