Debbie, Emily, and Jesse
The years we spent as your neighbors are the best years of our lives. And to think how a wind storm in 1981? 2? changed all our lives forever. God works in mysterious ways. If that water line had just come through sooner, we'd still be there. :)
Debbie, you are, and have always been, the very definition of grace. Gary was a blessed man, and he knew it. And your two beautiful children were cherished by the Dad.
We are keeping you in our prayers, and know God's sweet comfort will sustain you.

Debbie and Jessie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. My fondest memories of highschool are of Mr. Ells Debate and Forensics class, and all the tournaments we went too and held. He was a wonderful man and a fantastic teacher.

Debbie, Emily and Jesse--I was in debate for 3 years and have many fond memories of debate tournaments and overnighters. I really enjoyed having Mr. Ells as a teacher and coach. I've known you since you moved to St. Marys and remember you living down the street from me. My sincere condolences to all of you. Gary will be missed.

Thinking of you during this difficult time. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you.
I remember the fun times in class and Mr. Ells singing the 'Pearl' song. I also remember my 6 older sisters telling me "he might sing it when I'm in his class". He was a good man and a very memorable teacher.
Keep all your good memories and use them always.

Nature
As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.

I lettered in Debate when I was in High School thanks to Mr. Ells. He taught me critical thinking. I'll never forget him. My sincere condolences to his family.
