Jack Houghton Obituary

Jack Houghton Jack Houghton was born in Gallatin, Missouri, on July 3, 1923 to Hugh Houghton and Jennie Shoemaker Houghton. He died Friday, August 30, 2013 in Draper, Utah. He had recently suffered a stroke. In 1943, he married Vivian Frost who survives him. Jack joined the Navy and served in WWII as a Pharmacist Mate in the Pacific. Following the war, the couple settled in Topeka, Kansas, where he was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber for the next 33 years as a painter and carpenter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends, his family, and retirement. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, his son Randy (Mary) Houghton of Rio Rancho, NM; his daughter Sandy (Rick) Fink of Herriman, UT; and granddaughters Amy (Dave)Crow of Topeka, KS, and Kacy Franklin of Valley Park, MO. He is also survived by his niece, Shirley Ashford, of Iola, KS. Our thanks to Draper Rehabilitation Center and Dignity Hospice.
