Dan Bond Our beloved Dan Bond, 59 of Tigard, OR passed away March 6, 2014 having lost a difficult battle to cancer. Dan was born in Onaga, KS on July 12th, 1954 to Hubert and Leila (Culver) Bond. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1972. In 1975 along with his six siblings, he went to work on the Alaska Pipeline. Dan then moved to Oregon for the remainder of his life. He graduated from Mt. Hood Community College in 1981 with an associates degree in ornamental horticulture. Dan started his own landscaping business in 1989. It truly was a 'labor of love'. He was an active member of a home bible group, The Way International. He was unwavering in his faith and devotion to God. Dan married Susan in May 1982 and together they raised daughters Jennifer and Rachel. The girls were everything to him, always speaking of them with a glint of pride in his eyes. Dan took immense pride in everything he did. He was such a positive person and truly loved life. He was a delight to be with and had a great sense of humor, always smiling. Dan never met a stranger as he loved meeting and being with people. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family. He always looked forward to moose hunts in Delta Junction, Alaska with his 'big' brothers. His brothers dubbed him 'Hunter Dan' for his successful hunts. He had many wonderful family vacations in Sun River and Cannon Beach, OR, hiking, camping, and bicycling. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Hubert. He is survived by wife Susan, daughters Jennifer and Rachel; mother Leila; brothers, Wayne Bond, Larry Bond (BJ), David Bond (Mary); sisters, Judy Simonds (Ron), Karen Messenger (Bob), Kathleen Bond (Becky Kirchner). Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive Dan. A celebration of life will be held for Dan at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 13401 SW Benish St., Tigard at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Big Brothers, Big Sisters or the . Dan Bond
