Douglas Doug Lynn Banka Douglas Doug Lynn Banka, 60, Topeka, KS beloved husband, father & grandfather passed away on 5/13/13 at his home. Born 10/16/1952, Council Grove, KS. Son of Andrew & Donna Jean May Banka. Spent his Childhood in Alma. He lived and worked in Topeka, KS as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor with Sunflower Alcohol Safety Action Project, Inc and was currently employed with Topeka Treatment Center. He graduated with honors, receiving a bachelors degree from Washburn University, 1998. He was an active member of the Standing Bear Intertribal Brotherhood, New Hope United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the New Hope Pastor Parish Relations Committee, YMCA, FOTZ, and an AA member of 21 years. His hobbies included genealogy of his Native American heritage, black powder enthusiast, avid paintballer, and a blockbuster buff. He was a creative genius and wanted to help everyone around him. He was married to Alana Wilson Banka, 12/29/2012 and preceded in death by his mother, 1981; father, 2001; his son, Joshua, 2010 and Rojo. Survivors include his wife, Alana, Topeka, KS; Sister, Sue Ogden and Spouse Bruce, Gladstone, MO; Son, Matthew Banka, Russell, KS; Daughters, Steph Hale, Topeka, KS and Becky Banka, Wamego, KS; Stepchildren Heather Winzer, Heath Wilson and family; 1 niece, 2 nephews, 13 great nieces & nephews, 1 Grandson, 5 Granddaughters and four legged companions Oscar, Jazzy and Tommy. Celebration of Life Service to be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, 5/18/2013 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 2915 SW 8th Ave Topeka, KS. Food and Fellowship will follow. Contributions can be made to New Hope Church, Doug Banka Memorial. Everyone needs help, everyone can help
