Eleese Young Eleese Jasperson Young, 70, of Topeka, Ks, died Friday, February 8, 2018, of complications from Alzheimer's.

She was born in Topeka on April 14, 1947, the daughter of Margaret and Harold Jasperson.

Eleese attended Gage Elementary School and Capper Junior High. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1961 and Washburn University with a Bachelor of Education in 1965. She subsequently taught Kindergarten for USD 501 from 1969-1981, and pre-kindergarten at Topeka Collegiate from 1987-2009. She was awarded the Dr. Scott D. Hamilton, Outstanding Faculty Award, Topeka Collegiate, 2007-2008.

She married Richard C. Young on July 12, 1975 at Lowman Methodist Church in Topeka.

She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Junior League of Topeka, and P. E.0, Chapter DV. She was also a proud and active member of The Trough Club, a group of friends and sorority sisters formed after Washburn graduation. She participated in the local Alzheimer's Support Group, and enjoyed Bunko, traveling, gardening, family, friends and children.

Eleese is survived by her husband and their son, Stephen E. Young, of Topeka. Other survivors include five siblings: Marjorie Smith of Topeka, Glenda Reid Harrison of Lawrence, Nancy Perry (Ken) of Topeka, John Jasperson (Mary Jo) of Houston and Marc Jasperson of Kansas City; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, at 10:00 am., at Lowman Methodist Church, 4101 SW 15th Street (15th and Gage), Topeka, Kansas. A visitation with friends and family will immediately follow the service.
