Gina Riddle Cote Regina Marie Riddle, 66, Topeka, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017. Gina was born November 30, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of James and Regina Hurla Riddle. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and graduated from Hayden High School in 1968. In 1970, Gina and Joe Haefele were married. They had two children together and though they divorced they remained close friends always. She married F. Peter Cote in 1988; they later divorced. She earned her BSN degree from Washburn University in 1981 and went to work as a psychiatric nurse for Topeka State Hospital. She has been employed at Colmery-O Neil VA Medical Center for the last 12 years. Gina loved her work and her patients; it was her calling. Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Jim Haefele (Melissa) and Amy Haefele (Robert Wright); her grandchildren, Mercedes, Reeve and Cian; her mother, Regina Riddle; siblings, Jeanette Bullock, Tim Riddle (Chris), Marilyn Riddle, Martha Riddle and Max Riddle; Joe Haefele; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and her current canine friend, Baxter. Gina was preceded in death by her father. A celebration of Gina s life will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, where family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Topeka Rescue Mission, Let s Help and Helping Hands Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to
