Marilyn Lois Diederich Meinhardt Marilyn Lois (Diederich) Meinhardt, 81,Topeka, went home to her Lord on June 25, 2013. Although cancer had weakened her once vital body, she remained to the end a woman of great strength and dignity, demonstrating in her final days her trademark concern for others and her limitless love for her family. Marilyn was born on March 23, 1932 the daughter of Francis and Florence (Crimmins) Diederich in Dresden, KS. She attended Capitol Catholic High School in Topeka, Sacred Heart Academy in Manhattan, and Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. She spent the majority of her life working in the dining industry as manager of Trader Dick's, Ramada Inn LeFlambeau Supper Club, North Topeka Businessman's Club, North Star Supper Club, Topeka Cork Club and the Tri-H Steak House. She owned and operated Marilyn's Le Picardy Steak House and Easy Times Lounge. In retirement she worked at Dillions North Pharmacy. She was devout in her Catholic faith and was an avid reader. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's school and sporting activities and playing the casino slots. Marilyn is survived by two children, Debra ( Gerry ) Tinsley and Ervin (Debra) Bussart; a sister, Norma Lewis; brothers, Doyle, Doug and Dwight Diederich; five grandchildren, Matthew (Carrie) Tinsley, Tara (Brent) Maycock, Patrick Bussart, Brenna (Alex) Ramos and Bailey Bussart; three great-grandchildren, Silas Bussart, Tinsley Maycock and Mollie Tinsley , all of whom she doted on. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dallas Diederich. It was Marilyn's wish to be cremated. Family will greet friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Mater Dei Holy Name Church. A parish rosary will be prayed at the Church at 6:30 p.m. followed by Family Memories. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church Saturday, June 29th at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice or Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church, sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
