PhotoIn Loving Memory of Sgt Milton Anthony Gist, Jr. Sgt. Milton Anthony Gist, Jr. was born January 12, 1980 in St. Louis Missouri to Anginette Morgan and the late Milton Gist. Sgt. Gist was killed on January 30, 2007 when an IED detonated near his vehicle during combat operations close to the Ramadi Province in Iraq. He was deployed to Iraq in the summer of 2006 with the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. He was united in marriage to Raheisha Nard in 2002 in St. Louis, Missouri. He leaves his wife and two children, a daughter Jendayah, four years a son, Jakweli, fifteen months, at home in Topeka, Kansas near Raheisha's family. He also leaves his mother, Anginette Morgan, step-mother, Barbara Gist, two brothers, Antonio and DeAndra Morgan, a sister, Nikia Gist and a host of close relatives and friends in St. Louis, Missouri. In Topeka, he leaves his wife's family, Sherrita Camp (Dwayne), brothers-in-law Conrad Nard and Andrew Smith, sister-in-law Karmen Nard, a nephew and several nieces. Funeral services were held on February 10, 2007 in St. Louis Missouri at the West End Mt. Carmel Full Gospel Baptist Church. He was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Medal posthumously. Milton was buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, with military honors provided by the Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri Military Honors Team. The Patriot Guard Riders provided motorcade Support. A memorial service and family visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2401 Kingsrow, on Saturday, February 24th at 10am. Contributions may be made to the Milton Anthony Gist, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund and sent to Commerce Bank and Trust Topeka, Kansas. Milton Gist, Jr.
