Paul D. Dains, Jr., age 49, of Strong City, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. The son of Paul D. and Sandra R. Duesler Dains, Sr., he was born March 28, 1963, in Emporia, KS. He attended schools in Chase County. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Desert Storm. He and Gloria Cooper were married October 28, 1995, in Emporia, KS. He was a truck driver for the Frito-Lay Company located in Topeka, KS. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cutting wood. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of the home; two daughters: Sarah Belle Dains of Ottawa, KS. and Danielle Jaclynn Dains of the home; his parents, Paul D. Dains, Sr., of Cottonwood Falls, KS. and his mother, Sandra Sandy Hileman, of Emporia, KS.; one brother: Michael Dains of Larned, KS.; two sisters: Wanda Siebenaler and Paula Davidson of Emporia; and one grandson: Braden Lee Peterson of the home. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Walter Dains and Lorene Craig. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 2:00 P.M., at the Community Building in Swope Park in Cottonwood Falls, KS. Pastor Warren Olson will officiate at the service. The Honor Guard from Fort Riley will provide Taps and folding and presentation of the flag. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will meet friends Monday, from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Friends may come by Monday, from 10:00 until 7:30, to sign the book, at the funeral home.
