Paul Dibble Obituary

CORPUS CHRISTI, Tex. Paul Lillard Dibble, 77, went to be with our Lord on December 15, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Paul will be forever missed by all who knew him. He was born in Topeka, Kansas, on December 8, 1933. He was a good father, a loving husband, a good Catholic and a great friend. He became Catholic in 2008 and quickly thereafter, became very involved at Saint Philip the Apostle Church. He served his country in the army during the Korean War. Paul went to grade school and high school in Topeka, Kansas before entering the University of Kansas where he received a BBA in Business Management and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He married his loving wife Caralee Turner on September 13, 1958 and had four children. After college he worked in the family grocery business The Dibble Grocery Stores and later took a job with General Foods. His career at General Foods took our family to various states across the country. He then settled his family in Fort Worth, Texas when he accepted a position with Kimball Foods. Our family made its last move in 1976 to Corpus Christi, Texas where he opened his own industrial and janitorial supply company, Interchem. In 1987 Interchem closed and he joined his wife in her real estate and property management company, Property Concepts. Paul was very active in his community with his work with the Arthritis Foundation and with his regular involvement in church. While attending Saint Philips he was a team member and sponsor in RCIA and the Encounter retreat. He also attended the ACTS retreat at St. Philips. Family was very important to Paul; he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Any night of the week you would find him watching his grandchildren at various activities and sporting events. He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Sallie Dibble and his brother Daniel Dibble. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Caralee and his children Sarah (David) Hessong; Clayton (Judy) Dibble; Jill (Mark) Underbrink; and Daniel (Lisa) Dibble. He was blessed with twelve grandchildren; Christine and Andrew Johnson, Natalie Hessong; Ryan, Travis and Jackson Dibble; Richard, Robert, Karin and Kristen Underbrink; Madison and Allison Dibble and his beloved dogs Katie, Fred and Babe. The family extends special thanks to Homewood Residence, especially Tamara and her loving and caring staff and Nurses on Wheels. He would also like to thank Dr. David Sutter who provided excellent medical care for him for many years. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 19, 2010. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2010, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the March of Dimes or the Bishops Annual Appeal. MAXWELL P. DUNNE FUNERAL SERV. INC. 361 884-2411 1222 MORGAN AVE. Caralee: My wife Faith joins me in expressing our deepest sympathy to you and your family in this loss. Having known Paul since our childhood and all through high school, I so well remember the entire Dibble family from Topeka. The entire class of 1952 at THS will remember Paul at our next reunion.
