Trudy Sue (Rose) Hess Trudy Sue (Rose) Hess, 65, died at Midland Hospice in Topeka, KS on Monday, April 8, 2013, after a vigilant battle against cancer. Trudy was born November 28, 1947 at home in Quenemo, KS, the daughter of Harvey and Myrtle Rose. On March 30, 1974, she married Don Hess. Trudy spent over 30 years working as a legal secretary at Tilton & Tilton Law. She was a former president of the Topeka Legal Professional (TLP). She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Topeka and was a long-time bowler with the Kansas Women's Bowling Association. Trudy was an avid Jayhawk basketball fan and especially enjoyed cooking and cheering for her grandchildren on the soccer field. Survivors include a husband Donald Hess of Topeka, a son Eric (Kim) Hess and three grandchildren, Noah, Macy and Aidan of Bentonville, AR. Sisters Connie (Rick) Self and Janice (Larry) Masters of Burlingame, KS and a brother Jerry (Genny) Rose of Eudora, KS and many special nieces and nephews. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Myrtle Rose. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday April 11 at 6:00 PM at the First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka. Relatives and friends are welcome to stay after the service for remembrance and refreshments at the church.
