PhotoKANSAS CITY, MO- David Taylor, 61, Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Valley View Methodist Church in Overland Park, where David was an active member, with Rev. Bill Hemmen, officiating. Donations can be made to Grace Hospice or Valley View Methodist Church. David was born April 2, 1947 in McPherson, KS. He was preceded in death by his father Rex Taylor. Survivors include two children, Kelly Taylor, Olathe, Lindsey Wurtz, Shawnee, his mother Phyllis (Brooks) Taylor, Topeka, a sister Lorrie Lloyd, Clay Center, and two grandchildren Ashley and Owen Taylor. David was a graduate of Salina High School in 1965 and received a degree in architecture from Kansas State University in 1969. David's career was diverse, starting in the music industry promoting bands and concerts, then into real estate. He concluded doing what he loved best, supplying culinary equipment to the food and restaurant industry. David's passions included sailing, cooking, gardening, and listening to music.
