Florence Ella Wood Levin, 97, Topeka, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Plaza West Regional Health Center. Mrs. Levin was born March 13, 1908, in Oakland, Calif., to James Graham and Miranda Drum. She was orphaned at age 13, and lived with an aunt and uncle in Nebraska, where she attended Midland College and later taught school. She married Fred Maryott in 1930. He preceded her in death. From this marriage, there are three surviving children: Frederick James Maryott, Anne Maryott Schindler and John Graham Levin. Later, she married William J. Levin. They had one daughter, Julia Deane Marquis. William J. and Julia preceded her in death. Florence is survived also by three grandsons, five granddaughters, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- granddaughter. Until age 73, Florence worked for her sons in the water business, and then sold Avon until age 95. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the last 25 years of her life, and enjoyed that fellowship tremendously. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church, 2401 S.W. Kingsrow Road, Topeka, 66614.
