My only regrets in knowing Max is that I did not get to know him years earlier. What a passion for the youth he had. To think of Max one can only think of the thousand of neckerchiefs slide kits as well of all the other woodcrafts he prepared each year for Cub Camping. Thank you for sharing Max with all of us at Cub Camping as well as all the other Scout programs. He was the mentor extraordinaire. I will treasure the slide he gave to me and think of Max each time wear the slide.

Max was a devoted Scout leader. In the late '60's, I had the privilege of being in Max's troop and in going to Camp Jayhawk with him. Many years later... Max was still volunteering his time and garage as he helped my son and other scouts with their Pinewood Derby cars.

Our condolences to Max's family. We met Max through cub scouts and boy scouts. Max was a wonderful mentor for all the boys in Scouts. We spent may hours with him both learning about camping and of course the thousands of pinewood derby cars he cut for our scouts. He was a blessing to all that had the priviledge to know him. He will be missed beyond words. Thank you to his family for sharing him with all of us. You are in our prayers. Love, Denise, Jerry , Jacob and Josh Saskowski

In my mind, Max will always be part of Cub Scout camping. My son made one of his slides when a Wolf scout (2nd grade) and then as a teenager and college student worked on Cub Scout camp staff with Max. Max could relate both to adults and children. The teenagers at camp staff loved to hear Max's stories. A very special person who will live in our memories.
