Loretta had the most important job of all being a stay at home mom. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for her daughters and a church sacristan at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church for many years. Loretta's greatest gift to her children was caring for her grandchildren while they worked. She was a charter member of Christ the King Church. Loretta is survived by her four children, Rhonda Calander, Regina Gabrielson, Rose Mary (Alan) Whitford and John (Susan) Calander, all of Topeka; six grandchildren, Eric (Theresa ) and Leif (Amy) Gabrielson, Lawrence David Whitford, Phoenix AZ, Laura (Jeff) King, Jacob and Elizabeth Calander, Topeka ; six great-grandchildren, Connor, Evan, Max and Maggie Gabrielson, Lawrence KS, Adelaide King, Topeka and Annabel Whitford, Klamath Falls OR; as well as five surviving brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by Donald, November 16, 2013, her parents, four brothers, three grandchildren and one son-in-law. Loretta's greatest joy was her family. She loved to read, sew, and take rides on the carousel at the park and flowers.
