Edith M. Stowe Edith May (Cropp) Stowe, 90, of Topeka, died February 20, 2014. Edith was born on August 27, 1923, in northern Lyon County, near Miller, Kansas, the daughter of James Albert and Nellie Elizabeth Atkins Cropp. She graduated from eighth grade in Osage County, Kansas. Edith worked at the Remington Army Ammunition Plant during WWII and for Packing Products Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Willis Ernest Stowe on June 12, 1959. He died on January 27, 1980. Edith was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Cason Elmer Cropp and Albert Elvis Cropp; three sisters, Hazel Viola Cropp, Ruby Augusta Holt and Minnie Elizabeth Mitchell. Edith had no children, but is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, with funeral service following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Burlingame Cemetery in Burlingame, Kansas.
