Bertha Pauline (Whitcraft) Frink TOPEKA- Bertha Pauline (Whitcraft) Frink, 97, of Topeka, KS formerly of Wetmore and Holton, passed away February 27, 2014 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood near Holton, KS the daughter of Paul S. Sr. and Bertha Olive (Baker) Whitcraft. She graduated from Netawaka High School in 1935 and attended beautician school in Topeka. Pauline married William H. Frink on May 12, 1944. Bill died in 1996 along with their daughter Karma Frink who died shortly after birth. Her brother Paul, Jr. was killed in action during WWII. Bill and Pauline started farming in Holton and Wetmore areas after WWII, and then moved to Topeka in 1953; where she worked as a beautician, then later at Crane Office Supplies. Pauline was a member of the Rose Societies, Topeka Moose Lodge and also worked and taught ceramics. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Porter of Topeka and Winnie Brewer of Long Beach, CA; 7 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews and 15 great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton before proceeding to the cemetery.
