Freda Fisher Freda Fisher, 89, of Topeka, passed away April 22, 2014, at Midland Hospice House. Freda was born July 24, 1924, to Alma (Graves) Davis and Fred Davis. She grew up in the Alta Vista area, going to country school for the first eight years after which she attended high school in Alta Vista and graduated in 1942 with a Normal Training Certificate. She taught school in Morris County for three years. In 1946 on March 16 she married Ted Fisher. They farmed in the Beman Community and later were in the grocery business in Council Grove, after which Ted joined the Kansas Highway Patrol, which moved them to Wellington, Eldorado, Scott City, and then to Topeka where they remained. Freda was a licensed cosmetologist and was in the beauty profession for over thirty years. Freda is survived by her husband, Ted Fisher; children, Judy (Ken) Meredith of Omaha NE, and Brad (Debi) Fisher of Lees Summit MO; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial service for Freda will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in Manchester Lodge at Aldersgate Village Retirement Community, 7220 SW Ashbury Drive, Topeka KS 66614.
