Eulogio Lloyd Negrete Eulogio C. Lloyd Negrete, Sr., 83, Topeka, Kansas, was welcomed by the Lord in the early morning of Saturday, July 12, 2014. Lloyd was born on March 11, 1931, in Oxford, Kansas to Ysidro and Petra Negrete. He worked at Seaboard/Cargill, Inc. for most of his life. He was an active member of Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 534 and the James W. Gibbons Fourth Degree Assembly. Lloyd served his parish faithfully unlocking the church and as a sacristan, making the preparations for daily Mass. Lloyd is now in eternal peace with his father, his son, Eulogio Jr., his sister, Julia, his brothers, Tommy, Pedro and Espiridion and his uncle, John. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Rachel H. Negrete; his children, Julie Negrete, of Winfield KS, Raul Zarazua (Carol), Yvonne Hernandez (Tony) and Fred Zarazua (Michele) all of San Antonio TX and Lisa Hafen (Kevin), Gibsonia PA; his mother, Petra Negrete; his brother, Pete Negrete (Lucia); and sisters, Connie Jaramillo, Mary Cornejo, Jessie Cornejo, Jenny Ramirez (Tony), Rosie Macias (Vincent) and Felicia Aikins. Lloyd was blessed with 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, followed by the Fourth Degree Chalice Ceremony and Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Church. Burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1700 SW 7th Street, Topeka KS 66606, for patients comforts.
