Karen Godfrey WAKARUSA - Karen Godfrey of Wakarusa, Kansas, died at home on July 22, surrounded by family. She was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on October 4, 1959. Karen was a career teacher in the Seaman School District and was presently serving as President of the Kansas Teachers Association, KNEA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. Private family interment will be at East View Cemetery in Big Springs. Karen will lie in state after 3:00 Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Education Scholarship at Seaman High School c/o of the Topeka Community Foundation or the Big Springs Cemetery Fund.
