Richard L. Dick Jones, 64, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Midland Hospice House. Dick was born April 27, 1945 in Topeka, the son of Lewis and Marjorie June (Peters) Jones. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1963. He was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation in the Materials and Research lab for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He served as a reserve officer with the Topeka Police Department in the 1970s. Dick married Joyce Sprecker in 1982. They were divorced. Survivors include step-son, Troy Sprecker, Madison, WI; niece, Carrie Forshee, Topeka; and nephew, Brian Gray, Woodville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Gray. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Dick will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the
