Garnet Davis Obituary

WATERVILLE Garnet S. Davis, 69, Waterville, died Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville. Mrs. Davis was born May 20, 1936, in Hanover, to William and Alta Singleton. She married Robert Wilcox on Jan. 30, 1955, and they had eight children. Robert preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1976. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Travis Blue Wilcox. On Dec. 3, 1977, she married Tim Davis, who survives of the home. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids, where she previously served for many years as a Sunday school teacher and Bible school leader. She was a former member of the Blue Rapids Lions Club, and she enjoyed reading, listening to music and visiting with family and friends. Other survivors include five sons, Bryon Wilcox, Topeka, Robert Bob Wilcox and William Bill Wilcox, both of Blue Rapids, and Jon Wilcox and Randy Wilcox, both of Barnes; three daughters, Lorena Wilcox, Blue Rapids, Vicki Morgan, Tulsa, Okla., and Ren Eichem, Wamego; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Al Singleton, Blue Rapids, Bill Singleton, Topeka, and Harold Butch Singleton, Centralia; and six sisters, Mae Claycamp, Omaha, Neb., Anna Claycamp, Carol Claycamp, Paula Murk and Sue Hull, all of Blue Rapids, and Lori Patton, Crete, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the United Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids. Memorial contributions can be made to the United Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids. Terry Chapel & Funeral Home in Waterville is in charge of arrangements.
