DENISON- Vernon K. Clark, 84, of Denison passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Holton Community Hospital with his family by his side. He was born November 4, 1925 in Meriden, Kansas the son of Herbert L. and Flossie (Chapman) Clark. In 1946, Vernon married Adalee Cunning in Meriden. The couple later divorced. On March 26, 1950 Vernon married Florence E. Siecgrist in Topeka. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2009. He had worked for Goodyear for 33 years and was also a carpenter, building several houses and installing cabinets throughout area homes. Vernon had served as Denison Mayor and Fire Chief and was a member of the Mayetta Masonic Lodge #393. He is survived by: his daughters, Beverly Adams-Goodyear of Topeka, KS and Diana Clark-Keith and her husband Doug of Denison, KS; his sons, Carrol Eugene Clark of Piqua, KS and Albert Butch Clark and his wife, Marcia, of Seneca, KS; his sister, Lola Penry of Meriden, KS; his brother, Daryl Clark of Topeka, KS; his 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Vernon was also preceded in death by his sister, Lela Wilson, his brother, Virgil Clark and his granddaughter, Mary Kate Clark. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial following in Denison Cemetery. The family will greet friends at a visitation Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Vernon Clark memorial fund, to be designated later, and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
