OSKALOOSA -- Barbara Jean Boyd Hargis, 55, of Oskaloosa, KS., died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at her home after battling cancer since 2007. Barbara was born November 5, 1954 at Anoka, MN., the daughter of Virgil LeRoy and Frances Kraska Lindholt. She was a 1972 graduate of Hoyt Lakes, MN. High School and she attended the Minnesota School of Business. Barbara worked as a ware house team leader for the Payless Shoe Distribution Center in Topeka for 25 years. She formerly had worked at Welch Wood products in Perry, KS. for five years. She met her husband, Tom Hargis in 1990 and they have been companions for 18 years. Barbara and Tom were married on July 9, 2010 at Oskaloosa and he survives at home. Other survivors include her father, Virgil L. Lindholt, Hoyt Lakes, MN., two sons, Dustin Boyd, Fort Worth, TX., Michael Boyd, Oskaloosa, KS., one daughter, April Kirby, Germany, four step-daughters, Hannah Hoyt, Chelsea Hargis, Michelle Laughlin, Lori Laughlin, all of Kansas City, MO., one brother, Patrick Lindholt, Paola, KS., four sisters, Pamela Kreiensieck, St. Paul. MN., Gwen Hill, Burnsville, MN., Jennifer Swedberg, Fridley, MN., Kristine Behnke, Huntington, W. VA., and 11 grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Frances K. Lindholt, on December 9, 2009. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry, KS. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Friends of Jefferson County Hospice or to D.A.V. in care of funeral home, P.O.
