Rufus H. Miller Rufus H. Miller, age 93, of Topeka, moved to heaven Saturday at a Topeka hospital. He was born July 19, 1917 on a farm near Dover, KS the son of Dave and Minnie Miller Southwick. He graduated from Dover High School and attended K-State University. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Marguerite C. Moran for over 65 years. She preceded him in death November, 2002. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II and was stationed in Japan before moving back to the family farm. In 1967, they moved to Florida where he worked as a market analyst and later lived in Seattle and Lopez Island, WA. He is survived by two daughters, Karen Thomas (Larry G.) of Topeka and M. Kay Gagnon of Lopez Island, WA; two grandchildren, Mark Thomas and Valerie Proctor; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at Dover Federated Church. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
