Jean Lucille Griffin, 81, Topeka, passed away May 15, 2011. Jean was born June 5, 1929 in Centralia KS the daughter of David John and Francoise Geneva (Mentha) Ayers. She married Granville Jay Griffin, Jr. on October 28, 1967. She worked as an LPN for many years for area Pediatric Doctors. Jean also worked as a bookkeeper for Modern Mobile Homes. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and Croco Square Dancing Club. Jean enjoyed cooking, reading cookbooks and playing cards. She was an avid reader and loved family gatherings, and she also had a great sense of humor. Survivors include her husband Granville Jay Griffin, Jr., Topeka; daughter, Dixie Jean Woltkamp, Lawrence KS; sons, Richard Richie Woltkamp (Laura), Topeka, Shawn Douglas Griffin (Susan) Topeka; granddaughter, Jordan Stewart and her children, Addison and Isabelle; a sister, Avis Yvonne Harris, Centralia; step daughters, Melodie Ann Painter, CA, Pamela Kay Griffin; step son, Daniel Eugene Griffin, both of Raytown MO; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Audrey LaVonne White. Visitation will be Wed. May 18, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka KS 66614; where funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. at Centralia Cemetery in Centralia KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to Second Chance Animal Refuge Society in Auburn KS sent in care of the funeral home.
