Susan Perry Copeland, 51, wife of Eddie Copeland passed away at home on Saturday June 18, 2011, after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. Susie was born in Kansas City, MO on July 13, 1959. She graduated in from Andover High School in Bloomfield Hills, MI. and earned a bachelor's degree in 1981 from Michigan State University. Susie worked as a recruiter for Electronic Data Systems in Atlanta, GA for many years before transitioning to her starring role as a stay at home mom. She belonged to the Junior League of Atlanta. Susie and her family moved to Hilton Head Island in 2003. Susie enjoyed organizing and participating in activities for the Indigo Run Women's Club. She had many wonderful friends in the Gourmet Luncheon Club, the Outing Club, and the Indigo Run Book Club. Susie and Eddie loved to travel and enjoyed family trips to Greece, Spain, California, Hawaii, New York, Alaska and Florida. Susie was a very fine photographer. She had a great talent for taking photographs of nature and family and one of Susie's favorite activities was cooking and baking. A specialty was her delicious cheesecakes which she often shared with friends. Susie is survived by her husband Eddie Copeland and their two sons, Hayden Copeland and Griffin Copeland, mother, Susan F. Perry, Atlanta, GA father, James D. Perry (Joyce), Jupiter, FL mother and father in-law, Bill and Annie Copeland, her sister, Jane Perry McKinley, her brother, James Dick Perry (Becky), two nieces and two nephews. A memorial service will be held today, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 3 PM at First Presbyterian Church.
