Margaret M. Springer, age 93, of Westmoreland, Kansas, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan, Kansas. She was born January 1, 1918, at Hope, Kansas, the daughter of William and Winnifred (Reich) Brickei. Margaret was a homemaker and was a member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. She was married on June 1, 1936, to Lloyd C. Springer. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2009. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon, Melvin and Bobby Brickei, and a sister, Frances Campbell. She is survived by one son, Lloyd Dean Springer and wife Tammy of Wamego, Kansas; four daughters, Carol Vonderschmidt and husband Bill of Hiawatha, Kansas, Judy Runnebaum and husband Ralph of Manhattan, Kansas, Sharon Baker of Spokane, Washington and Bonnie Springer of Westmoreland, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 22, 2011, at the Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas. Respect calls may be made anytime Saturday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church in Westmoreland, Kansas. Burial will be in the Carnahan Creek Cemetery south of Olsburg, Kansas. A memorial has been established for the PRN Home Health and Hospice of Wamgeo.
