Harold Louis Graham, son of Louis and Velma Hisey Graham, was born on September 13, 1926 at Belleville, KS. and passed away August 25, 2011 at Stormont Vale Hospital in Topeka, KS. He attended Belleville public schools and graduated from Belleville High School in 1944. He joined the Navy in December of 1944. He was sent to Madison, Wisconsin and attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin as a radio operator. He was then assigned to the USS Chikaskia Naval oil tanker as the radio operator. His travels took him almost around the world and in 1946 the Chikaskia was one the war ships that was involved in The Atomic Bomb test on the Bikini Islands known as Crossroads. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to Belleville. He attended K-State. He was a self employed farmer stockman. He was united in marriage to Geraldean Louise Mathieson on June 15, 1952 and to this union 3 children were born, Cindie, Steve, and Ron. His Family attended the Lutheran Church in Chester, NE. and in 1953 joined the Lutheran Church in Belleville KS. He was a life long member of the VFW, American Legion, Belleville Lions Club, Elks Club, Moose Club, Masons, Church council, Belleville City Council, and foreman on the R.I. RR. Harold & Gerry moved to Emporia in 1980 where he was employed by Santa Fe Railroad. His hobbies were fishing & woodworking. They moved to Topeka in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister. He is survived by his wife Gerry of the home, one daughter Cindie, two sons Steve and Ron, one sister Erma Lervold, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 2 great grand step children. Funeral services were conducted August 27, at Hope Lutheran Church by Pastor Scrogins. Interment was in Penwell-Gabel cemetery with a Navy Burial Detail. Harold Graham
