OLATHE Dr. Daryl E. Berry, 84, went to meet his Maker, Nov. 2, 2012 in Olathe. He was born July 4, 1928 in Downs to LeRoy and Anna (Edell) Berry. He was a public school teacher and retired Associate Dean of Education at Emporia State University. He started teaching in a one room school house and retired teaching teachers. Daryl was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, Olathe, the American Legion and Phi Delta Kappa. On Feb. 11, 1951, he married Peggy Hoffman in Kanopolis. She survives. Other survivors include sons Dr. Marlin Berry of Olathe, Marshall Berry of Atchison and Marc Berry of Olathe; daughters Marcia Wolf of Stafford, VA and Martha Reynolds of Tampa, FL; sister, June Cross of Olathe; brother Ken Berry of Norton; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Sunday with the family present 6-8 pm. at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth. Funeral service will be 11 am, Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the funeral home, with burial following in the Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
