Glen Carlton, age 79, of Manhattan, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. Glen owned and operated Carlton Heating and Air for over 25 years. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was part of the first NIKE Missile Program. Glen loved to travel, enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, singing, theatre, hunting and fishing. He was a great family man and jumped at the chance to help anyone he could. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Sharon at their home in Manhattan. He is also survived by his children: Danone Martin and her husband Warren, Denise Werth and her husband Dave, Dawn Martin and her husband Tim, Damon Carlton and his wife Lisa, Daedra Lowry and her husband Michael ; additional survivors include his sisters: Betty Bluthardt and Charlone Derksen; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services for Mr. Carlton will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from noon until the service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens east of Manhattan. Memorial contributions are suggested to the PRN Home Health and Hospice or the Blue Valley Memorial United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502. Glen Carlton
