Julia Ann Cairl Barber

Julia Ann Cairl Barber, 62, Topeka, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at her home. Julie was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Franklin Charles and Frances Virginia Lantz Cairl. She moved with her family to Topeka in 1946. She attended Topeka public grade schools and graduated from Topeka High School in 1960. Julie worked for the state of Kansas for 27 years as an office specialist before retiring. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the International Public Employees Association. Julie married Walter N. Fritz on Feb. 27, 1960. They divorced. She married John P. Barber Sr. on July 3, 1975, in Topeka. He survives. She also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Howard Fritz, Harveyville, Russell Fritz, Tecumseh, Laurie Ogle, Topeka, Shawn Svoboda-Barber, Mount Vernon, Ohio, Katie Pittaway, Holton, Matthew Barber, Lawrence, and John Paul Barber Jr., Carlsbad, Calif.; a sister, Deborah Ulrich, Akron, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death b y her son Franklin Fritz, her parents and her brother John Cairl. Julie will lie in state from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church, where a funeral service will be at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Valencia Cemetery.
