Bertrom H. Sneed, 80, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Baptist Health Louisville in Louisville, Ky.
Son of the late Hershel and Maggie Sneed, he was born in Adair County, Ky., and later moved to Macon, Ga., where he lived for several years before returning to Kentucky and settling in Campbellsville.
He retired from the Brown Williamson Tobacco Co., where he had worked for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
He married Mary Jo Wooley on July 14, 1956. She survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Bertrom Sneed and his wife, Carol; Steven Sneed and his wife, Leda, and Shelby Sneed and his wife, Andrea, all of Macon; two daughters, Debra Johnson and her husband, Wayne, of Louisville, and Peggy Rigdon and her husband, Greg, of Campbellsville; two sisters, Virginia Jones and Montry Harris and her husband, Bill, all of Greensburg, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Faye Sneed of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Claves L. Sneed; and a grandson, Matthew Scott Sneed.
Funeral was Monday, April 7, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
