Bobby D. Benningfield

Bobby D. Benningfield, 79, of Campbellsville, died at 4:33 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Son of the late Maurice Benningfield and Lilly Campbell Benningfield, he was born on June 12, 1933, in Taylor County, Ky.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School, where he was a star basketball player.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He started Quick Stop in Campbellsville and was a former employee of Primerica Financial Services and Batesville Casket Co.
He married Carolyn Smith on June 17, 1971. She survives.
Survivors also include a son, Todd Adams of Campbellsville; a daughter, Sharon Benningfield of Mobile, Ala.; four grandchildren, Grant Adams, Carly Adams and Taylor Price and his wife, Danielle, all of Campbellsville and Sidney Benningfield of Alabama; a great-granddaughter, Braelyn Patterson; three brothers, Richard Benningfield and his wife, Betty Lou, of Glasgow, Ky., Randall Benningfield and David Harding of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Benningfield; and a brother, George Harding.
Funeral was Monday, Dec. 24, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Dr. James Jones officiated.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
