Carol Nance McKinney

Carol Nance McKinney, 79, of Campbellsville, died at 4:35 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2014, in Campbellsville with her family at her side.
Daughter of the late Welby Nance and Marie Gameltoff Nance, she was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Atlanta, Ga.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and served for a number of years in the Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a retired nursing assistant with Taylor Regional Hospital and Family Home Health. She also had worked for a number of years with the Campbellsville School system, first as a teacher's assistant at the elementary and then as a secretary at the high school.
Carol was an active member of the community, especially in politics. She served as president of the Young Democrats for several years and was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
She was a member of the American Cancer Society and the American Legion. She also loved to bowl and fish and won many trophies. She knew where all the great fishing holes were. We will miss her great personality and open and caring heart.
She married William L. "Bill" McKinney on June 6, 1953. He survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Kim Pendleton and her husband, Joe, and Ann York and her husband, Bubby, all of Campbellsville; a son, Greg McKinney and his wife, Cheryl, of Campbellsville; five grandchildren, Krissy Welch, Dee Brown, Donald Brown, April Nalley and Dalton McKinney; eight great-grandchildren, Logan Brown, Gracie Miller, Belle Brown, Kylie Brown, Sarah Brown, Jack Brown, Blake Landis and Aleigha Nalley; a brother, Larry Nance of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, James R. "Sonny" Nance on Dec. 4, 1982.
Funeral was Friday, May 30, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jim Reinhart officiated.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
