Helen VanDyke, 88, of Campbellsville, died at 9:08 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in Taylor County.
Daughter of the late Carter Netherland and Olivia "Levia" Smith Netherland, she was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Taylor County.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and clerk of the session.
She was an employee of the Sears store for many years.
She married Chester Gordon VanDyke on Oct. 12, 1946. He preceded her in death Oct. 23, 2011.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ike and Laurie VanDyke of Campbellsville; two grandsons, Greg McDonald and his wife, Shannon, of Campbellsville, and DeWayne McDonald and his wife, Angela, of Lebanon, Ky.; six great-grandchildren, Jasmine McDonald, Dalton McDonald, Austin Adams, Erin McDonald, Tyler McDonald and Madison McDonald; a great-great-grandson, Mason Keith Arnett; a brother and sister-in-law, James S. and Beulah Netherland of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanell VanDyke McDonald on Nov. 7, 2006.
Funeral was Monday, Feb. 10, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. Ron Ferree and R.B. Mays officiated.
Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
