James A. Parrish, 88, of Campbellsville, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Greensburg.
Son of the late Hence Parrish and Pearl Aaron Parrish, he was born July 12, 1925, in Cumberland County, Ky.
He married Geraldine Cox on Jan. 20, 1951.
He was a retired cherry furniture maker for more than 50 years.
Besides his wife, Geraldine Parrish, survivors include two sons, James Randall Parrish of Clearwater, Fla., and Gary Lynn Parrish of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Lewis "Sie" Parrish and his wife, Janetta Nell, and Hiestand Parrish and his wife, Vernice, all of Campbellsville; a sister, Mary Frances Keltner of Campbellsville; a sister-in-law, Goldie Smith of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Otis Junior Parrish; and three sisters, Lou Anna Cox, Margie Parrish and Leva Pike.
Funeral was Wednesday, March 12, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Larry Frisby officiated.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
Family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to Freedom Baptist Church building fund or Gideon Bibles, and they can be made at the funeral home.
